Abbey Foregate residents parking survey

Proposal

We will be carrying out a survey of residents within part of the Abbey Foregate area to see if they would support a Residents Parking Scheme. This survey will take place between 13 April and 11 May 2015.

Those residences included in the survey will receive a letter, this will outline the scheme and seek their view. This is the first process step in the possible introduction of a residents parking scheme.

If the support response level is met then we will develop detailed proposals for wider consultation and discussion.

Those residences that are being approached are shown in the plan shown in the attached document. Also included is a plan showing the existing waiting restrictions in the area, and a copy of the rules relating to the introduction of a residents parking scheme.

These details are to supplement the outline details included in the letter we have sent to the households within the bounded area of the plan.

If further information is required please contact us using the details on this page.

Please note, for this survey we will only respond to queries from those residents we have included in the survey.

How to get involved

Only those who have received an invitation through the post are able to get involved in this consultation at this point.

Outcome

Of the 244 letters delivered we received 65 responses (ie 25.8% of households responded to the survey). A breakdown of the responses are as follows:

  • Yes - 48 (represents 19.7% of households that received a letter)
  • No - 13
  • Not Sure - 2

On the returns received the supportive response rate falls short of the 30% target for us to proceed further with a residents parking scheme proposal for Abbey Foregate in the area we consulted.
