The 20mph zone, waiting restrictions and traffic calming on Brampton Road (west) and changes to the speed limit on the A488 and Brampton Road (east) are proposed as part of Shropshire Council’s Schools 20mph initiative and will improve the safety of school children, residents and other road users in the vicinity of The Community College Bishop’s Castle. |

Proposal
THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF SOUTH SHROPSHIRE) (SPEED LIMITS) (PART 2) ORDER 2007 (AMENDMENT) ORDER
Shropshire Council proposes to introduce the following speed limits in Bishop’s Castle:
20mph Speed Limit Zone
B4385 Brampton Road (west)
B4385 Brampton Road from a point 23 metres northwest of its junction with the A488 to a point 117 metres northwest of its junction with Bowling Green Close.
30mph Speed Limit (by virtue of street lighting)
B4385 through Bishop’s Castle
That length of the B4385 Montgomery to Clun Valley Road from a point 213 metres north of its junction with Castle Street to a point 117 metres northwest of its junction with Bowling Green Close.
B4385 Brampton Road
That length of the B4385 Brampton Road from its junction with the A488 a point 23 metres northwest of that junction.
30mph Speed Limit
A488
That length of the A488 from a point 282 metres southwest of its junction with the B4385 Brampton Road to a point 25 metres northeast of its junction with Brick Meadow.
B4385 Brampton Road (east)
That length of the B4385 Brampton Road from its junction with the A488 to a point 209 metres southeast of that junction.
40mph Speed Limit
A488
That length of the A488 from a point 25 metres northeast of its junction with Brick Meadow to a point 272 metres south of its junction with the unclassified road leading to Totterton/the B4384 Schoolhouse Lane.
50mph Speed Limit
A488
That length of the A488 from a point 272 metres south of its junction with the unclassified road leading to Totterton/the B4384 Schoolhouse Lane to a point 49 metres north of that junction.
Any existing speed limits at the above locations will be revoked.
