Bridgnorth - King's Loade - parking restrictions

Description

This proposal follows the completion and analysis of a questionnaire distributed to residents in May / June 2022 and a further public consultation workshop in December 2022. The proposal is intended to reduce vehicle congestion, facilitate the safe passage of traffic and access to property whilst giving residents equal opportunity to park near to their homes. The introduction of virtual permitting and visitor hours will give improved access and greater flexibility in service provision.

It is proposed:

  • To create a permit holders parking bay on King's Loade in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week to enable to residents to park near to their homes as well as facilitate the safe movement of traffic. Additional waiting restrictions are proposed around the new permit holder parking bay
  • That eligible residents of the King's Loade scheme will be able to purchase one resident parking permit per premise
  • That eligible residents of the King's Loade scheme will receive 200 hours of visitor permits per year
  • That any proprietors of holiday let properties located within the King's Loade scheme may purchase a parking permit for use by their customers during the rental of the holiday let property

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (KING'S LOADE AND OLDBURY ROAD, BRIDGNORTH) (AMENDMENT) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to add the following parking restrictions to King's Loade and Oldbury Road in Bridgnorth:

King's Loade resident permit holders only

King's Loade (north side)

From a point 24 metres east of its junction with the B4363 Oldbury Road for a distance of 42 metres in an easterly direction.

No waiting at any time

B4363 Oldbury Road (east side)

From its junction with B4373 Underhill Street to the southernmost side of its junction with King's Loade.

B4363 Oldbury Road (west side)

From its junction with B4373 Underhill Street southerly to the northernmost side of the access for The Gym Club (Bridgnorth) Ltd.

King's Loade (north side)

From its junction with B4363 OIdbury Road for a distance of 24 metres in an easterly direction.

 

From a point 66 metres east of its junction with B4363 Oldbury Road easterly for a distance of 65 metres.

King's Loade (south side)

From its junction with B4363 OIdbury Road for a distance of 142 metres in an easterly direction.

Any existing parking restrictions at the above locations will be revoked.

Eligible residents of the King's Loade scheme will be able to purchase one resident parking permit per premise, with one car registration allowed per permit, at a cost of £100.

Eligible residents of King's Loade will receive 200 hours of visitor permits per year if they buy a residents parking permit. Eligible residents who don't purchase a residents parking permit may buy the same amount of visitors permits at a cost of £5 per year.

Proprietors of holiday let properties located within the King's Loade scheme may purchase a parking permit for use by their customers during the rental of the holiday let property. Each establishment will be entitled to purchase one digital permit annually at a cost of £100.
