Wedding venue application - Davenport House, Worfield (variation)
This is a variation to the existing approval to add ‘The Morning Room’ to the licence.
The Council is currently developing its new Corporate Plan for 2026-2030.
The Plan is a key document, setting out what the Council intends to focus on over the next 4 years and what we aim to achieve with our partners and communities. It will provide a clear basis for our business planning and prioritisation, helping us to plan our services and activity in the context of the overall ambitions we want to see achieved for Shropshire and its residents.
Whilst we are identifying a number of ambitions, we must ensure that the commitments we make about what we will deliver reflect the current financial position.
We need to make sure our available budgets have as big an impact as possible. To do this we will be doing more to influence and enable our communities to be able to do more for themselves. We will also maintain our focus on promoting wellbeing and tackling inequalities, helping people to be independent, and reducing demand for council services.
Our commitments will be reviewed each year to ensure they remain realistic and relevant, and make sure we are meeting our statutory requirements and the needs of our vulnerable people, within the resources that we have available to us.
We would like to hear from residents and other stakeholders on the proposed ambitions and why they are priorities for our area. These ambitions have been informed by data and insights which tell us about the current situation, and what the future will look like, what our residents and those who use our services have told us over the past year, what our staff and councillors have told us, and what we understand from our work with partners. We have combined this with what we have to deliver that is set out by law, and what was set out in ‘A New Direction for Shropshire’ that was presented to the Council meeting in September 2025.
Any significant service changes or new policies delivered as a result of the Corporate Plan 2026-2030 will be subject to more formal public consultation, as appropriate, as the work progresses.
The survey will step you through each of the ambitions for comments and whether there is anything in relation to each ambition that we have missed.
