Designation of Bicton Parish as a neighbourhood area

Proposal

Notice is given that Shropshire Council has received from Bicton Parish Council an application under Regulation 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 for the Council to designate the area comprising the civil parish of Bicton as a “neighbourhood area” within the meaning of section 61 G of the 1990 Town and Country Planning Act (see explanatory note below).

A copy of the application and a map of the area can be viewed below, or at Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury during weekdays between 8.30am to 5pm, or at the Parish Hall in Bicton.

Note –

Following the Introduction of the Localism Act 2011, the purpose of designating a neighbourhood area is for a neighbourhood plan to then be prepared for that area. Bicton Parish Council is in the earliest stages of considering a neighbourhood plan and this application seeks now to formalise the process.

How to get involved

Representations on whether the civil parish of Bicton is an appropriate neighbourhood area may be made to Shropshire Council no later than 5pm on Friday 27 June 2014 by writing or emailing using the contact details on this page.
