Draft All-age Autism Strategy consultation

Introduction

The draft All-Age Autism Strategy (2025-2030) aims to promote a cultural shift across Shropshire's services adopting an all-age approach and recognising the need for a more joined-up, proactive, timely and autism-accessible offer to enable people to live healthy and fulfilling lives. The strategy focuses on five important areas of service provision:

  • Health and assessment
  • Education and preparation for adulthood
  • Employment
  • Housing and social care
  • Criminal Justice System

The draft has been developed through a collaborative approach with input from members of the public through previous engagement activity, and with partner organisations and other stakeholders. Working groups have influenced the development of the strategy and the contents of each theme and the strategic objectives and outcomes included.

It's now important to obtain further feedback. We and our partners are keen to hear from anyone with autism able to provide experience of living in Shropshire, and also from a wider audience and all those with an interest in autism, whether personal or professional. Your views on the draft will be welcome and help to form a final version.

Shropshire Council’s cabinet plans to consider the final version of the strategy either in late 2025 or early 2026.
