A speed reduction from 60mph to 40mph is proposed to provide a buffer zone to reduce traffic speeds entering the existing 30mph speed restriction, facilitating and improving safety and amenities for vehicular traffic and all road users.

Shropshire Council proposes to place a 40mph speed limit on the following length of road in Hanwood:

That length of the A488 Shrewsbury to Knighton Road from a point 146 metres east of its junction with Caradoc View to a point 150 metres east of the eastern most wall of the main building of property 1 Edgebold Cottage.
