Have your say in helping us develop services for adults with learning disabilities and autism (LD&A)

Introduction

Shropshire Council ensures that there are different services in place for adults with LD&A including supported living and day opportunities.

We'd like to hear from you to understand what is working well and how things could work better. The survey focuses on externally provided services and not those delivered directly by Shropshire Council.

Day Opportunities for adults with LD&A includes activities and support offered during the day to help people learn new skills, make friends, be more independent, and take part in their community.

Supported Living enables people to live as independently as possible in their community, with support from staff. This can either involve living by themselves or with other adults who have similar support needs.

We have three surveys to collect as many views as possible:

  1. A survey for individuals and friends/family carers - Day Opportunities and Supported Living

This is intended for people who draw on externally delivered day opportunities and/or supported living, and also the people in their lives such as family and friends.

A fillable and printable easy read version of this survey is also available for download.

  1. A survey for providers - Day Opportunities

This is intended for the workforce who deliver externally delivered day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.

  1. A survey for the social care workforce - Day Opportunities

This is intended for social workers and social care practitioners.

Please tell us what you think by answering the questions in the relevant survey. You don't need to fill in every part. Just answer the questions that matter to you.

If you are a family member, friend or carer, we would like to hear from you too, please answer the questions on behalf of the person you support and add any of your own comments.

The surveys will close on Tuesday 23 December 2025. Please take time to complete the relevant survey.
