Health and wellbeing strategy and action plan

Proposal

As part of the further development of Shropshire's Health and Wellbeing strategy, a task and finish group of the Health and Wellbeing Board has been developing a Communication and Engagement strategy and action plan - both available at the bottom of this page.

This strategy and action plan will cover how those working to improve health and wellbeing across Shropshire will communicate with the public and each other, and engage with patients and communities across the county. The aims are to ensure transparency, consistency and to join-up working across Shropshire. This will then support the Health and Wellbeing Board in delivering  its strategy to ensure that people across Shropshire  are supported and enabled to lead happy and healthy lives.

The strategy and action plan are currently in draft form and we are seeking comments and feedback from all stakeholders. In particular, we would like your feedback in regard to the principles outlined in the strategy.

Day centres consultation

We're inviting people who use day centres in Shropshire, their family members, carers, members of the public, professionals and our stakeholders to have their say on proposed changes to Shropshire Council’s in-house day services. These are services Shropshire Council runs and delivers.

Cosford – 30mph Speed Limit

The introduction of a 30mph speed limit along Worcester Road West aims to improve the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and other road users travelling between Cosford Train station and the RAF Cosford museum. The speed limit changes will facilitate the introduction of a 2m wide footway that is to be installed on the south side of the carriageway, as currently pedestrians walk along the verge. With the reduced speed limit, cyclists will be able to cycle on the carriageway more safely. The proposals are being implemented following assessment of vehicle speed data and pedestrian movements between the train station and the museum, both during term time and in the school holidays. The proposals are being implemented along Neachley Lane and Long Lane in order maintain a continuous 30mph speed limit in the vicinity of the museum and air base.
