Help shape the future of tourism in Shropshire

The draft Destination Management Plan (DMP) 2026-2029 is the blueprint for the future of tourism in the county for the next three years.

It's been written in collaboration with stakeholders and partners, and it builds on the current Destination Management Plan. It has been approved by Visit England and written to align with Visit Telford's DMP.

A Destination Management Plan is delivered by the wider Visitor Economy sector, not by a specific body, such as Shropshire Council. Once approved, tactical plans will be developed to deliver the actions identified in the DMP, for which external funding will be needed.

We're now seeking feedback from those with an interest in the local visitor economy. We're keen to gather views on the draft before moving to a final version for local decision and implementation.

The development of Destination Management Plan has been 100% funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Shrewsbury - Cathedral Catholic Primary School and The Martin Wilson Primary School – parking restrictions

The introduction of no waiting at any time and no loading at any time restrictions together with the prohibition of stopping markings on New Park Road, Shrewsbury are proposed to improve pedestrian visibility and safety outside of Shrewsbury Cathedral Catholic Primary School and The Martin Wilson Primary School. The markings are proposed to cover crossing movements on the side roads around the school where inconsiderate parking may create a safety risk due to lack of visibility. School keep clear markings are proposed at the school entrances only to provide visibility for pedestrians crossing the road outside the school.
