Parent information needs survey 2025

Proposal

Shropshire's Family Information Service (FIS) provides free information, advice and support to families of children and young people aged 0-19 years old. It has been running in Shropshire for 24 years.

The FIS is always keen to make sure the information it provides, and the way in which it is provided, meets the ever-changing needs of families in Shropshire.

We would like to know more about what information you may want now or what you think would be useful in the future. This will help us to provide that information to you.

Have your say by clicking on the 'How to get involved' tab.

The survey will close on 14th March 2025.

Following the survey, the feedback received will be analysed and used to inform a report. This will be shared with Shropshire Council's People Directorate to inform its work and it will also be used to help inform Shropshire Council's current programme of transformation.

Cosford – 30mph Speed Limit

The introduction of a 30mph speed limit along Worcester Road West aims to improve the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and other road users travelling between Cosford Train station and the RAF Cosford museum. The speed limit changes will facilitate the introduction of a 2m wide footway that is to be installed on the south side of the carriageway, as currently pedestrians walk along the verge. With the reduced speed limit, cyclists will be able to cycle on the carriageway more safely. The proposals are being implemented following assessment of vehicle speed data and pedestrian movements between the train station and the museum, both during term time and in the school holidays. The proposals are being implemented along Neachley Lane and Long Lane in order maintain a continuous 30mph speed limit in the vicinity of the museum and air base.

Shifnal – Various Streets – parking restrictions

The introduction of waiting restrictions along Curriers Lane and its junctions with Barn Road and Greenfield Crescent will provide unrestricted access along the road increasing visibility for all road users including pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, reduce congestion and improve air quality.
