Title of scheme	Shifnal Town Centre - Parking Restrictions, 20mph Speed Limit and Traffic Calming
Description	The restricted parking zone will introduce consistency in waiting restrictions across the town centre without the use of double yellow lines. Proposed changes to waiting and loading restrictions are provided to accommodate the new town centre scheme design whilst also providing designated disabled and loading bays. The 20mph speed limit zone will help to provide a more pedestrian-friendly environment as part of the town centre enhancements.

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (VARIOUS ROADS, SHIFNAL) (AMENDMENT) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to introduce the following parking restrictions on various roads in Shifnal Town Centre:

Restricted Parking Zone No waiting at any time

Bradford Street (East side)	Between its junction with Broadway and its junction with Victoria Road/Market Place.
Bradford Street (West side)	From its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 65.1m south of that junction. That length of the driveway access (both sides) from Bradford Street to the car park at the rear of Cheapside (King's Yard car park). From a point 75.3m south of its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 88.1m south of that junction. From a point 109.1m south of its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 118.9m south of that junction. That length of the driveway access (both sides) to Noram House. From a point 138m south of its junction with Shrewsbury Road to its junction with Victoria Road/Market Place.
Cheapside (Both sides)	From its northernmost junction with Bradford Street to the access servicing no. 14 Cheapside (Patons (Shifnal) Ltd).
Market Place (Both sides)	Between its junction with Bradford Street to a point 23m south of that junction.
Market Place (West side)	From a point 44.2m south of its junction with Bradford Street to a point 68.9m south of that junction. From a point 94.9m south of its junction with Bradford Street to its junction with John's Street.
Market Place (East side)	From a point 36.5m south of its junction with Bradford Street to its junction with John's Street.

Restricted Parking Zone Disabled Parking Bay

Market Place (East side)	From a point 23m south of its junction with Bradford Street to a point 36.5m south of that junction.
Bradford Street	The parking bays opposite no. 14 Cheapside (Patons (Shifnal) Ltd) within the area bound between Cheapside and Bradford Street.

Restricted Parking Zone Loading only 8.15 - 9.15am and 4pm - 6pm / Limited waiting 9.15 am - 4 pm 30 minutes no return within 1 hour

Bradford Street (West side)	From a point 65.1m south of its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 75.3m south of that junction. From a point 88.1m south of its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 109.1m south of that junction. From a point 118.9m south of its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 138m south of that junction.
Market Place (West side)	From a point 23m south of its junction with Bradford Street to a point 44.2m south of that junction. From a point 68.9m south of its junction with Bradford Street to a point 94.9m south of that junction.

Restricted Parking Zone No waiting or loading at any time
(Except for traders or other authorised vehicles for markets or events)

Cheapside

The adopted area bound by Bradford Street, the driveway servicing no. 14 Cheapside (Patons (Shifnal) Ltd.) and the driveway servicing the car park at the rear of Cheapside (King's Yard car park).
The adopted area bound by Bradford Street, the driveway servicing the car park at the rear of Cheapside (King's Yard car park) and the driveway servicing the driveway access to Noram House.
The adopted area bound by Bradford Street, the driveway servicing the driveway access to Noram House and the retaining wall outside Noram House.

The following sides of roads will be added to the Restricted Parking Zone. They will remain No Waiting at Any Time

Aston Street (Both sides)	From its junction with Bradford Street to a point 14 metres east of that junction.
Broadway (West side)	From its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 14m north of that junction
Broadway (East side)	From its junction with Shrewsbury Road to a point 14m north of that junction
Church Street (North-West side)	From its junction with Market Place for to a point 20m south-west of that junction.
Church Street (South-West side)	From its junction with Market Place for to a point 20m south-west of that junction.
Park Street (Both sides)	From its junction with John's Street to a point 16m south of that junction.
Shrewsbury Road (Both sides)	From its junction with Broadway to a point 17m south-west of that junction.
Victoria Road (North-East side)	From its junction with Bradford Street to a point 38 metres north-west of that junction.
Victoria Road (South-West side)	From its junction with Bradford Street to a point 38 metres north-west of that junction.

Any existing restrictions at the above locations will be revoked.

Shropshire Council proposes to place a 20mph speed limit on the following roads in Shifnal:

Shrewsbury Road

From its junction with Bradford Street to a point 39m south-west from that junction.

Broadway

From its junction with Bradford Street to a point 35m north from that junction.

Bradford Street

In its entirety.
That length of the driveway access (both sides) from Bradford Street servicing no. 14 Cheapside (Patons (Shifnal) Ltd.).
That length of the driveway access (both sides) from Bradford Street to the car park at the rear of Cheapside (King's Yard car park).
That length of the driveway access (both sides) from Bradford Street to Noram House.

Cheapside

From its northernmost junction with Bradford Street to the access servicing no. 14 Cheapside (Patons (Shifnal) Ltd.).

Aston Street

From its junction with Bradford Street to a point 57m east from that junction.

Victoria Road

From its junction with Bradford Street to a point 73m north-west from that junction (to the boundary between property no's 9 and 11 Victoria Road).

Market Place

In its entirety.

Park Street

From its junction with Market Place to a point 44m south of The Grove.

Church Street

From its junction with Market Place to a point 11m west of that junction.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 23
INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURE ON
VARIOUS ROADS IN SHIFNAL

Notice is hereby given that Shropshire Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, propose to establish traffic calming measures on various roads in Shifnal. The proposed raised tables will act as traffic calming features to aid the self-enforcing nature of the 20mph speed limit zone. They will also enable pedestrian desire lines, and facilitate safer crossing points for pedestrians at junctions.

The traffic calming comprises of flat top road humps (max height 65mm) across the full width of the carriageway:

At the junction of Shrewsbury Road and Bradford Street: Bradford Street for a length of 16m from its junction with Shrewsbury Road (as measured along its centreline). Shrewsbury Road from a point 8m west of its junction with Bradford Street to its junction with Broadway. Broadway from a point 2m south of its junction with Dunstanville Court to its junction with Shrewsbury Road.

At the junction of Victoria Road, Bradford Street, Aston Street and Market Place: Bradford Street from a point 9m north of its junction with Aston Street to its junction with Victoria Road. Aston Street from its junction with Bradford Street in an easterly direction for 13.5m. Victoria Road from a distance 2m north-west of the property boundary between no. 1 and 3 Victoria Road to its junction with Market Place. Market Place from a point in line with the northernmost edge of the public toilet building to its junction with Victoria Road.

Park Street from a point 1.5m north from the southwest corner of No. 3 Park Street for 13m in a southern direction.
