Church Preen Primary School – 20mph speed limit
The introduction of a 20mph speed limit on the roads in the vicinity of Church Preen Primary School to improve the safety of schoolchildren.
The introduction of speed humps along Featherbed Lane, and a 20mph zone outside Harlescott Junior School and Sundorne Infant School and Nursery, will reduce the danger to people and traffic using the road, and decrease the risk to vulnerable pedestrians.
Notice is hereby given that Shropshire Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, propose to establish the following traffic calming measures on Featherbed Lane in Shrewsbury. These measures will reduce the speed of traffic, create a safer environment, and lessen the risk of accidents.
A raised table is proposed at the following locations, typically the height of the plateau will be between 75 - 100mm high, will typically be 6m in length and will typically have entry/exit ramps between 1.2 metres and 1.5 metres long:-
A pair of speed cushions is proposed at the following locations, typically, the height of the speed cushions will be between 65 - 75mm high, be 2 - 3m in length, and 1.6 - 2m in width.
Shropshire Council proposes to put a 20mph Speed Limit Zone on the following length of Featherbed Lane in Shrewsbury:
