Shrewsbury Waiting Restrictions

Description

The change to waiting restrictions in the locations named within this Order will help avoid danger by providing safer parking and better visibility for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists wishing to use the roads or improve the amenities of the area through which the roads run.

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (VARIOUS ROADS, SHREWSBURY)
(AMENDMENT) ORDER
 

Shropshire Council proposes to make the following changes to parking restrictions in Shrewsbury:

a)    No Waiting At Any Time restrictions will be placed on:

Beddow Close (North side):
From its junction with St. Michaels Street to the rear property boundary of 99 St Michael Street.

Beddow Close (South side):
From its junction with St. Michael Street to a point opposite the property boundary of No 5 Beddow Close and No 6 Beddow Close.

Berwick Avenue (both sides):
From the western side of its junction with Berwick Close to the southern building line of No. 21 Berwick Avenue.

Betton Street (west side):
From its junction with Belle Vue Road to a point 69 metres south-east of that junction.

Chestnut Close (both sides):
From its junction with Mytton Oak Road for its entirety.

Corporation Lane (both sides):
From the northern side of the footpath leading to Coton Mount in a northerly direction to the northern extent of the dropped kerb for the electric substation.

Hemsworth Way (north side):
From its junction with Ellesmere Road in an easterly direction to the start of the parking bay.

Hemsworth Way (south side):
Form its junction with Ellesmere Road in a easterly direction for a distance of 12 metres.

Holywell Street (south east side):
From a point 85.2 metres north-east of its junction with Whitehall Street to its junction with Underdale Road.

New Park Street (north and west side):
From the property boundary of No 21 New Park Street and No 22 New Park Street firstly in a westerly then southerly direction to a point adjacent to the property boundaries of No 54b New Park Street and No 55 New Park Street.

New Park Street (south side):
From the start of the radius kerb adjacent to No 47 New Park Street to the start of the radius kerb adjacent to 51 New Park Street.

Rocke Street (north east side):
From a point 1 metre south-east of the boundary between No 1 Rocke Street and No 2 Rocke Street to the entrance to the youth club car park.

Underdale Road (north west side):
From its junction with Holywell Street in a northerly direction for the extent of the bridge deck.

Underdale Road (north west side):
From a point 23 metres north-east of the bridge deck for a distance of 18 metres

Underdale Road (south east side):
From its junction with Holywell Street northerly to a point 18 metres south of its junction with Trafalgar Place.

Westminster Close (both sides):
From its junction with Corporation Lane in an easterly direction for a distance of 11 metres.

B)    No Waiting, Mon-Sat 8am-6.30pm restrictions will be placed on:

New Park Road (north side):
From its junction with St Michael Street to a point in line with the western  property boundary of No 23 New Park Road.

New Park Road (south side):
From a point 14 metres west of its junction with North Street in a north- easterly direction to a point in line with the western  property boundary of No 23 New Park Road.

North Street (both sides):
From its junction with New Park Road for a distance of 11 metres.

C)  No waiting at any time / No loading Mon-Sat 8.15am-9.15am, 12.15pm-1.15pm and 4pm-6pm restrictions will be placed on:

Colehall:

From its junction with Hills Lane for the entire adopted extent.

Any existing restrictions at the above locations will be revoked.

Outcome

The proposals for Beddow Close and Colehall were implemented on 5 June 2015. The remainder of the proposals were abandoned.
