ALTERATION OF PEDESTRIAN CROSSING
OVERTON ROAD, ST MARTINS
Notice is hereby given that Shropshire Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and after consultation with the chief officer of police, proposes to alter a pedestrian crossing as follows:
Zebra to puffin crossing on Overton Rd, St Martins at a point approximately 25 metres southwest of its roundabout with Ellesmere Rd and Greene Lane.
A plan illustrating these proposals may be inspected, free of charge, at Oswestry Library, Arthur Street, Oswestry, Shropshire SY11 1JN, and is attached to this page.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to this proposal should do so in writing to the Traffic Engineering Team, The Guildhall, Frankwell, Shrewsbury, or by email to traffic.engineering@shropshire.gov.uk by 18 February 2026.

The introduction of a 20mph speed limit on the A495 Station Road, Whittington in line with Shropshire Council’s guidance from 2023, is proposed to improve the safety of school children, residents and other road users near Whittington CEA Primary School. The extents of the 20mph limit are proposed to cover the main school entrance on Station Road, in line with data analysis of the movements around the schools.
The introduction of a 30mph speed limit for the village of Frodesley.
The introduction of No Waiting At Any Time and No Waiting At Any Time with a Prohibition of Loading along the B5068 Elson Road and Trimpley Street, Ellesmere is proposed to improve pedestrian visibility and safety in the vicinity of Ellesmere Primary School. The formalisation of the existing advisory School Keep Clear markings on the B5068 Elson Road, Ellesmere and the A495 Oswestry Road, Ellesmere to improve pedestrian visibility and safety outside Ellesmere Primary School and Lakelands Academy.
