The Bullring, Whitchurch - changes to pedestrian zone

Proposal

Description

Safety concerns continue to be raised regarding vehicles driving into the existing pedestrian zone on Watergate Street in Whitchurch which is known locally as The Bullring.  The existing Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) for The Bullring allows vehicles to enter the pedestrianised zone at any time for the purposes of loading/unloading and this can result in a safety conflict with pedestrian's using this area.

In order to improve safety for pedestrians in this area it is proposed to amend the existing TRO for the pedestrian zone to prohibit loading/unloading between the hours of 10am to 4pm.

The purpose of this TRO is to improve the amenity of the area for the local community and to reduce the risks to vulnerable road users within the pedestrian zone.
