The Mere at Ellesmere customer survey

Proposal

We're hoping to develop a project at the disused Swan Hill depot and want to survey our visitors and the local community about the Mere at Ellesmere Country park.

We'd like to find out what people think of The Mere, how they use it and gain some feedback on some ideas for development.

Our thoughts are to develop the disused Countryside depot site at Swan Hill into a new water sports centre and to include an all-weather indoor play facility within a Meres & Mosses interpretation centre and café.

The aim of the project would be twofold:

  1. To develop and promote The Mere at Ellesmere as an Outdoor Recreation Centre and ‘Gateway to the Meres & Mosses', by creating more outdoor recreational opportunities to deliver an all year-round tourist destination at the Country Park
  2. To increase visitor numbers out of the main spring and summer seasons. Secondly, to use the proposed new facilities to raise visitor awareness of the important Meres & Mosses landscape.
