Shifnal – Coppice Green Lane – prohibition of right turns
The introduction of a no right turn moving traffic order will improve the safety of road users at this junction, reduce traffic queues and improve air quality.
Thank you to those who responded to the first community governance consultation launched in December 2023.
Shropshire Council has now had the opportunity to absorb the responses and use them to inform the development of draft recommendations for the five areas under consideration.
These areas were prioritised as the recent Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) review of electoral divisions in Shropshire resulted in some divisions crossing Parishes and required the creation of small Parish Wards.
The Shropshire (Electoral Changes) Order 2024 has completed its Parliamentary passage and is now fully in effect. The new electoral divisions will be used in the next ordinary Shropshire Council elections in May 2025. In addition, unless changes are now made, the Parish Wards created as a result of the LGBCE review will be used in the next ordinary Parish Elections in May 2025.
Shropshire Council is now launching a further consultation on its draft recommendations to run from the 21 March 2024 to the 10 May 2024. Feedback is very much welcomed.
Five documents have been prepared summarising some of the feedback received and setting out the draft recommendations.
An interactive map is included on our webpages to aid consultees in their responses. In addition, pdf maps of the relevant areas are attached.
Following this second consultation, final recommendations will be made in response to the outcome of these consultations. Subject to approval by Shropshire Council, consent will then be sought from the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) to make the formal orders.

The introduction of a no right turn moving traffic order will improve the safety of road users at this junction, reduce traffic queues and improve air quality.
The parking restrictions are intended to provide junction protection, deter commuter parking and ensure emergency vehicle access.
We're inviting people who use day centres in Shropshire, their family members, carers, members of the public, professionals and our stakeholders to have their say on proposed changes to Shropshire Council’s in-house day services. These are services Shropshire Council runs and delivers.
