Since the last North West Relief Road (NWRR) consultation in 2017, Shropshire Council has been working on an updated design for the scheme, which now incorporates the previously separate Oxon Link Road scheme. The NWRR will connect the A5 at Welshpool Road roundabout in the west to the Ellesmere Road roundabout in the north, with new bridges over the River Severn and the Shrewsbury to Chester railway line.

The Council is now preparing to apply for planning permission for the road to be submitted in May 2020 and is taking the opportunity to remind stakeholders and residents about the scheme and to understand current opinion.

The project team will be present at the following events:

• Tuesday 10 March from 2pm - 8pm
  Emmanuel Church, Mount Pleasant Road, Shrewsbury SY1 3HY
  
• Wednesday 11 March from 2pm - 8pm
  Bomere Heath Village Hall, Shrewsbury Road, Bomere Heath, Shrewsbury SY4 3PD
• Thursday 12 March from 2pm - 8pm
  Ego at the Grapes, Welshpool Road, Bicton Heath,
  Shrewsbury SY3 5BH
• Saturday 14 March from 10am - 5.30pm
  The Big Town Plan Shop, the Darwin Shopping Centre,
  Raven Meadows, Shrewsbury SY1 3SW
  The exhibition will remain in the Big Town Plan Shop for the following dates and times:
  • Sunday 15th March from 11am - 4pm
  • Monday 16th - Friday 20th March from 10am - 5.30pm *
  * Following the government's latest coronavirus advice (Monday 16 March), the North West Relief Road exhibitions originally due to take place in the Darwin Centre until Friday will not be happening.

Your views are not only welcome but important. Paper copies of the consultation material can be viewed at any of the events above, and also at the Shirehall reception, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND for the duration of the consultation.
