Shropshire Local Plan - Scoping Consultation
A comprehensive scoping consultation for the preparation of the next Shropshire Local Plan, which will guide sustainable growth and development in the county up to 2046.
NOTICE IS GIVEN that Shropshire Council has received from Bishops Castle an application under Regulation 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations for Shropshire Council to designate the area comprising the civil parish of Bishops Castle as a 'neighbourhood area' within the meaning of section 61 G of the 1990 act (see explanatory note below).
A copy of the application made by Bishops Castle Town Council, a map of the proposed area, and the application advert are attached to this page.
Following the introduction of the Localism Act 2011, the purpose of designating a neighbourhood area is for a neighbourhood plan to then be prepared for that area. Bishops Castle Town Council is in the earliest stages of considering a neighbourhood plan, and this application seeks now to formalise the process.
Representations on whether the civil parish of Bishops Castle is an appropriate 'neighbourhood area' may be made to us during a period of four weeks ending at 5pm on Friday 5 July 2019 by writing to Planning Policy, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND, or by emailing planning.policy@shropshire.gov.uk
