Shropshire Local Plan - Scoping Consultation
A comprehensive scoping consultation for the preparation of the next Shropshire Local Plan, which will guide sustainable growth and development in the county up to 2046.
As part of the current examination into the Woore Neighbourhood Plan, the appointed independent examiner currently assessing the plan has informed us that a habitat regulation assessment (HRA) screening assessment should be carried out and consulted on.
It is a legal requirement for local authorities to prepare an HRA for plans and projects which have the potential to impact on habitats of European importance. The consultation document includes an HRA of the Woore Neighbourhood Plan 2016-2036 (WNP).
The purpose of the HRA screening report is to identify which international sites could possibly be affected by the proposals in the WNP, the potential pathways by which the sites may be affected and, where possible, to detail avoidance or mitigation measures to be applied in allocating sites or drafting the wording of any policies.
The draft HRA screening assessment is included on this page to view and download.

If you have any comments on the HRA screening assessment please can you make them to Shropshire Council by 5pm on Friday 7 December. You can provide comments via email to planning.policy@shropshire.gov.uk or by post to: Planning Policy, Shropshire Council, Shirehall, Shrewsbury, Abbey Foregate, SY2 6ND.
